Taps A and B are inlet taps while tap C is an outlet tap. If they are opened together at the same time, the tank will be filled in 16 hours. What is the capacity of the tank?

    Solution :

    Tank filled in 1 hour = (42 + 56 - 48) \[\Rightarrow \] 50 litres Quantity of water in the tank in 16 hours = 16 \[\times \] 50 = [800 litres]
