    Solution :

    By Factor Theorem. If \[f(a)=0,\] then \[(x-a)\]is a factor of \[f(x).\] \[\therefore \,f(3)={{3}^{3}}+{{3}^{2}}-17\times 3+15\]             \[=27+9-51+15=0\] \[\therefore (x-3),\] is a factor of \[f(x).\] Remember: \[f(5)\,\cancel{=}0:f(-3)\cancel{=}0:f(-1)\cancel{=}0\]
