A bag contains a mixture of dry-cement and sand in the ratio of\[4:1\]. An another bag contains a mixture of dry-cement and concrete in the ratio of\[5:2\]. The quantity in the 2nd bag is twice of that in 1st. If both the bags are mixed, then what will be the ratio among dry-cement, sand and concrete?

    A)  \[78:7:20\]

    B)  \[9:1:2\]

    C)  \[78:20:7\]

    D)  \[9:2:1\]

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

Suppose Ist bag contains 35 kg mixture and 2nd bag contains 70 kg mixture. Quantity of dry cement in bag Ist \[=\frac{4}{5}\times 35=28\,kg\] Quantity of sand in bag 1st \[=\frac{1}{5}\times 35=7kg\] Quantity of dry cement in bag II \[=\frac{5}{7}\times 70=50\,kg\] Quantity of concrete in bag \[=\frac{2}{7}\times 70=20\,kg\] \[\therefore \]  Required ratio \[=(28+50):7:20\] \[\mathbf{=}\,\,\]
