If one root of quadratic equation \[{{x}^{2}}+kx+3=0\]is 1, then the value of K will be:

    A) 4

    B)  \[-4\]

    C) 1

    D)  \[-\text{1}\]

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

    Let first root [a] and second is\[(\beta )\]. \[\therefore \]    Product of roots \[(\alpha \beta )=\frac{c}{a}=\frac{3}{1}\] So,  \[\beta =1\] And sum of roots \[(\alpha +\beta )=-k\] \[-k=1+3=4\Rightarrow k=-\,\mathbf{4}\]
