  • question_answer
To complete a work, A takes 50% more time than B. If together they take 18 days to complete the work. How much time shall B take to do it alone?

    A) 30 days

    B) 35 days

    C) 40 days

    D) 45 days

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

Let A's working rate is 2U per day and B's working rate is 3U per day. \[[\because \,\,\,\,\,{{T}_{A}}:{{T}_{B}}=32]\] \[\therefore \]    \[(A+B)'s\]  working rate is 5U per day and work is completed in 18 days \[\therefore \]    Total work \[=18\times 5=90\] Units and B's rate is 3U per day \[\therefore \]    Time taken by B to complete \[=\frac{90U}{3U}\] = 30 days
