    Solution :

     Quantity of milk in mixture \[=\,\,\,\frac{5\times 512}{8}=320\]  litre Quantity of water in mixture \[=\frac{3\times 512}{8}=192\] litre Let x litre water should be added \[\therefore \,\,\,\frac{320}{192+x}=\frac{5}{4}\,\,\,\Rightarrow \,\,\,960+5x=1280\] \[5x=1280-960=320\] \[x=\frac{320}{5}=\underline{\mathbf{64}\,\mathbf{litres}}\]
