    Solution :

     Total consumption of petrol for 5 months                                                                                \[=5\times 96=480\] litres and total consumption of petrol for next 7 months                                                                               \[=7\times 120=840\]  litres                                                                                      \[\therefore\] Total consumption of petrol for 12 months                                                                                \[=480+840=1320\]  litres                                                                                      \[\therefore\] Monthly average consumption                                                                           \[=\frac{1320}{12}=110\] litres
