Let a two-digit number be k times the sum of its digits. If the number formed by Interchanging the digits is m times the sum of the digits, then the value of m is

    A)  \[9-k\]

    B)  \[10-k\]

    C)  \[11-k\]

    D)       \[k-1\]

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

     Let the number be \[10x+y.\] \[\therefore \]   \[10x+y=k\,(x+y)\]                       .... (i) Again, \[10y+x=m(x+y)\]                       ....(ii) Equations (ii) + (i). \[10x+y+10y+x=(m+k)\,(x+y)\] \[\Rightarrow \]            \[11x+11y=(m+k)\,(x+y)\] \[\Rightarrow \]            \[11(x+y)=(m+k)\,(x+y)\] \[\Rightarrow \]            \[m+k=11\] \[\Rightarrow \]            \[m=11-k\]
