JEE Main & Advanced AIEEE Solved Paper-2007

  • question_answer
Charges are placed on the vertices of a square as shown. Let \[\vec{E}\] be the electric field and V be the potential at the centre. If the charges on A and B are interchanged with those on D and C respectively, then       AIEEE  Solved  Paper-2007

    A)  E remains unchanged, V changes

    B)  both E and V change

    C) E and V remain unchanged

    D)  E changes, V remains unchanged

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

Direction of E reverses as E is vector quantity while magnitude remains same and V remains unchanged because the net potential at the centre is the sum of potential of four changes.
