How much copper is supposed to be deposited when a current of 0.75 amperes passes through a copper sulphate solution for 25 minutes?

    A)  0.34 g

    B)  0.33 g

    C)  0.35 g

    D) ( d) 0.37 g

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

    : Quantity of electricity \[=0.75\times 25\times 60\] = 1125 coulombs. \[C{{u}^{2+}}+2{{e}^{-}}\to Cu\] 2 moles of electrons produce 1 mole of\[Cu\] In other words, 2 x 96500 C deposit 63.5 g of\[Cu\] \[\therefore \]1125 C deposit\[\frac{63.5}{2\times 96500}\times 1125=0.37g\]
