The two reducing powers of light reaction a used in dark reaction during the formation of

    A)  3-phosphoglycerate from ribulose, 1,5-bisphosphate

    B)  glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate from 3-phosphoglycerate

    C)  sucrose from triose phosphate

    D)  ribulose 1,5-bisphosphate from triose phosph

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

In Hill reaction or chemical dark reaction 12 mole of 3 phosphoglyceric acid (3 phosphoglycerate) is formed by the reaction of RuBP and \[C{{O}_{2}}\] in presence of water through process of carboxylation. Now during second phosphorylation two reducing power (12 ATP and 12 \[NADP{{H}_{2}}\]) produced in light reaction are used in formation of 3 phosphoglycerate from ribulose 1, 5 biphosphate. 3 PGA t 12 ATP (produced in light reaction)                                                 \[\xrightarrow{phosphoglyceric\text{ }kinase}\] 1, 3 diphosphoglyceric acid + 12 ADP 1, 3 diphosphoglyceric acid + 12 \[NADP{{H}_{2}}\] \[\xrightarrow[dehydrogenase]{Triose\text{ }phosphate}\,3\,PGAL+12NADP+12{{H}_{3}}P{{O}_{4}}\]
