What result Mendel would have got, had he self-pollinated a tall \[{{F}_{2}}\] -plant?

    A)                  TT and Tt

    B)                  All Tf

    C)  AII TT

    D)  All ff

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

The Fi-generation on crossing a homozygous tall (TT) plant to a dwarf plant (tt) consisted of all hybrid tall (Tt) plants. In \[{{F}_{2}}\]-generation, when \[{{F}_{1}}\]-generation (Tt) was self-pollinated the phenotype ratio of tall to dwarf is about 3 : 1 (3 tall : 1 dwarf). When \[{{F}_{2}}\]-generation is self-pollinated, some of the tall plants produced the tall plants (TT) only and the other tall plants produced the tall and dwarf plants and dwarf plants produced only dwarf plants. When tall \[{{F}_{2}}\] plants are selfed, only tall plants are produced in regeneration.
