                    Frequency received by the observer                 \[v=v\left( \frac{v}{v+u} \right)=v\left( \frac{1}{1+\frac{u}{v}} \right)\]                 \[=3000\left( \frac{1}{1+\frac{1}{2}} \right)\]                 \[=300\frac{1}{3/2}\]                 \[=3000\times \frac{2}{3}\]                 = 2000 Hz
