                    Potassium tetraiodomercurate (II) or \[{{K}_{2}}Hg{{I}_{4}}\] is the inorganic compound consisting potassium cations and tetraiodomercurate (II) anion. It is mainly used as Nessters reagent, which is a mixture of a 0.09 mol/L solution of \[{{K}_{2}}Hg{{I}_{4}}\] in 2.5 mol/L KOH and is used to detect ammonia.
