The  rate  constant  of  a  reaction  is \[1\times {{10}^{-2}}mo{{l}^{-2}}{{L}^{2}}{{s}^{-1}}.\] The order of the reaction is

    A)  0

    B)         1

    C)  2

    D)         3

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

For \[n\]order, the units of rate constant \[=mo{{l}^{1-n}}{{L}^{n-1}}{{s}^{-1}}.\] where, n = order of reaction Given, units of rate constant \[=mo{{l}^{-2}}{{L}^{2}}{{s}^{-1}}\] On comparing the units of rate constants \[1-n=-2\]                 \[\therefore \]  \[n=3\]                 or            \[n-1=2\]                                 \[n=3\] \[\therefore \] The order of the reaction is three.
