Which enzyme is proved to be very useful in genetic engineering?

    A)  Telomerases

    B)  Polymerases

    C)  Endonucleases

    D)  Hydrolases

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

Endonucleases are enzymes which cut the DNA at intemal sites. The endonucleases which cuts DNA at specific site (restriction site) are called, restriction endonuclease. These enzymes are used in genetic engineering for introduction of foreign DNA. Telomerases are enzymes which causes the polymerisation of telomere of the chromosome. Polymerases are enzymes which causes polymerisation like DNA polymerase, RNA polymerase. Hydrolases are enzymes which carryout hydrolysis of a substrate e.g., lipase, amylase, protease etc.
