    Gonadotropins or gonadotropic hormones are hormones, which are secreted from anterior pituitary gland and controls functions of gonads, ie, testis and ovary. These gonadotropins are FSH and LH. (i) FSH (Follicle Stimulating Hormone): It stimulates growth of ovarian follicles in female and spermatogenesis in the male (ii) LH: It activates the Leydigs cells of the testes to secrete androgens. Final maturation of ovarian follicles in female takes place by LH. GH (Growth Hormone) is secreted from anterior pituitary and regulates over all growth of body. MSH (Melanocyte Stimulating Hormone) is produce by middle lobe of pituitary and influence the colour changing of skin. ADH (Antidiuretic Hormone) releases from posterior lobe of pituitary and influences water balance.
