In an experiment, 20 mL of decinormal \[HCl\]solution was added to 10 mL of a decinormal \[AgN{{O}_{3}}\] solution. \[AgCl\] was precipitated out and the excess acid was titrated against a, decinormal \[NaOH\] solution. Volume of \[NaOH\]required for this back titration is

    A)  10 mL

    B)  5 mL

    C)  20 mL

    D)  30 mL

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

    10 mL 0.1 N \[AgN{{O}_{3}}\] will react with 10 mL of 0.1\[NHCl\]. \[\therefore \] 0.1 \[NHCl\] left = 10mL Thus, it will neutralise 10 mL of 0.1 N NaOH.
