The current gain of a transistor in common emitter mode is 49. The change in collector current and emitter current corresponding to the change in base current by 5.0 \[\mu F\]A, will be :

    A) \[\mu F\]

    B) \[\mu F\]

    C) \[\Omega \]

    D)  none of these

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

    Here:  \[\beta =49,\Delta {{I}_{b}}=5.0\mu A\] Current gain in common emitter mode \[\beta =\frac{\Delta {{I}_{c}}}{\Delta {{I}_{b}}}\]   or  \[\Delta {{I}_{c}}=\beta \times \Delta {{I}_{b}}\] or \[\Delta {{I}_{c}}=49\times 5\mu A=245\mu A\] From the formula \[\Delta {{I}_{e}}=\Delta {{I}_{b}}+\Delta {{I}_{c}}\] \[=(245+5)\mu A=250\mu A\]
