    \[{{t}_{1/2}}=3\,days,N=3\,g,T=12\,days\] where,\[n=\]number of half-life,\[T=\]total time \[{{t}_{1/2}}=\]half- life \[t=n\times \,{{t}_{1/2}}\]           \[12=n\times 3\]                 \[n=4\] On putting the value of n in the following equation,                 \[N={{N}_{0}}{{\left( \frac{1}{2} \right)}^{n}}\]                 \[3={{N}_{0}}\times {{\left( \frac{1}{2} \right)}^{4}}\]                 \[3={{N}_{0}}\times \frac{1}{16}\] \[{{N}_{0}}=3\times 16=48g\]
