Two bodies of different masses are dropped from heights of 16 m and 25 m respectively. The ratio of the time taken by them to reach the ground is:

    A)  \[\frac{25}{16}\]

    B)  \[\frac{5}{4}\]

    C)  \[\frac{4}{5}\]

    D)         \[\frac{16}{25}\]

    E)  \[\frac{5}{8}\]

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

    \[h=0+\frac{1}{2}g{{t}^{2}}\Rightarrow {{t}^{2}}\propto h\] \[\therefore \] \[\frac{{{t}_{1}}}{{{t}_{2}}}=\sqrt{\frac{{{h}_{1}}}{{{h}_{2}}}}=\sqrt{\frac{16}{25}}=\frac{4}{5}\]
