    Let \[f:R\to R\]  be   defined   by \[f(x)=3x+4.\]Then \[{{f}^{-1}}(x)\]is:

    A)  \[\frac{x+4}{3}\]

    B) \[\frac{x}{3}-4\]

    C) \[3x+4\]

    D)  none of these

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

    Let \[{{f}^{-1}}(x)=y\]then \[x=f(y)=3y-4\Rightarrow \]\[y=\frac{x+4}{3}\] \[{{f}^{-1}}(x)=y\Rightarrow {{f}^{-1}}(x)=\frac{x+4}{3}\]
