  • question_answer
An example of a salt that will not hydrolyse is:

    A)  \[C{{H}_{3}}COON{{H}_{4}}\]

    B) \[C{{H}_{3}}COOK\]

    C)  \[N{{H}_{4}}Cl\]

    D)  \[KCl\]

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

The salt that will not hydrolyse is\[\text{KCl}\text{.}\]It is salt of strong acid and strong base. The solution of \[\text{KCl}\text{.}\]is neutral it neither reacts with acid nor with base. The aqueous solution of \[\text{KCl}\text{.}\]contains\[{{K}^{+}},C{{l}^{-}},{{H}^{+}},O{{H}^{-}}\] ions. The\[{{K}^{+}}\]and \[C{{l}^{-}}\]ions has no tendency to react with \[O{{H}^{-}}\]and \[{{H}^{+}}\] ions of water.
