    Solution :

    The resultant force of two equal forces                 \[=\sqrt{{{P}^{2}}+{{P}^{2}}+2P\,.\,P\cos {{120}^{o}}}\]                 \[=\sqrt{2{{P}^{2}}+2{{P}^{2}}\times \left( -\frac{1}{2} \right)}\]                 \[=\sqrt{2{{P}^{2}}-{{P}^{2}}}=\sqrt{{{P}^{2}}}=P\]
