  • question_answer
A reaction is \[A+B\rightleftharpoons C+D\] initially. We start with equal concentration of A and B. At equilibrium we find the moles of C is two times that of A. What is the equilibrium constant of the reaction?

    A)  \[1/4\]

    B)  \[1/2\]

    C)  \[4\]

    D)  \[2\]

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

    \[A+B\rightleftharpoons C+D\] Initital       \[\because \]  \[A=B\] At equilibrium \[C=2A\] \[\therefore \] Equilibrium constant   \[K=\frac{2A.2A}{A.A}=4\]
