CET Karnataka Medical CET - Karnataka Medical Solved Paper-2001

  • question_answer
A gas at the temperature 250 K is contained in a closed vessel. If the gas is heated through 1 K, then the percentage increase in its pressure will be:

    A)  0.4%

    B)  0.2%

    C)  0.1%

    D)  0.8%

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

     Initial temperature \[{{T}_{1}}=250K\] Final temperature \[{{T}_{2}}=250+1=251K\] From the Charles law, \[\frac{{{P}_{1}}}{{{P}_{2}}}=\frac{{{T}_{1}}}{{{T}_{2}}}\] \[{{P}_{2}}=\left( \frac{{{T}_{2}}}{{{T}_{1}}} \right){{P}_{1}}\] \[=\frac{251\times 1}{250}=1.004\] Hence, change in pressure, =1.004-1=0.004 =0-4%
