Due to the action of these enzymes plasma membrance of sperm fuses with that of secondary oocyte. Antifertilizin reacts with fertilizin of ovum. This reaction is species specific, as only fertilizin and antifertilizin of same species interact. When compatibility of species is established, fertilization cone or cone of reception is formed, after which sperm head contents enter ovoum.
