    Phagocytosis is shown in the given figure. The mode of nutrition in Amoeba is holozoic. It engulf the food in the solid form, the process is called phagocytosis. Amoeba is a carnivorous organism. When food comes in contact with the surface of body, pseudopodia are formed which capture and engulf the food. The food vacuole is formed by the joining of pseudopodia which is comparable with human gut. Digestion takes place in the food vacuole with the help of enzymes. Digested food is diffused into the cytoplasm and food vacuole got ruptured.
