    Which one is correct?

    A)  Blood = plasma + RBC + WBC + blood platelets

    B)  Plasma = blood - lymphocytes

    C)  Neuron = cyton + dendrite + axon + synapse

    D)  Lymph = plasma + RBC + WBC

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

Blood is a fluid connective tissue. The blood cells are called corpuscles. Plasma represents the matrix of the blood. It is heavier than water. Blood is made up of two components - Plasma and blood cells. Plasma is transparent, slightly alkaline, matrix of blood. It contains 91 - 92% water and 8-9% solid substances. In mammals, blood cells/corpuscles are mainly of three types erythrocytes (RBCs), leucocytes (WBCs) and thrombocytes (platelets). Thus the correct option is- Blood = Plasma + RBC + WBC + Blood platelets.
