    A)  Prothrombin

    B)  Fibrinogen

    C)  Platelets

    D)  Calcium ions.

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

: The mechanism of blood clotting is explained. by many theories. Best arid Taylor theory is one of the theories that explains blood clotting. According to this theory four factors are involved in blood clotting. They are prothrombin, thromboplastin, calcium ions and fibrinogen. At site of injury the damaged tissue releases an enzyme called thromboplastin. Thromboplastin in the presence of calcium converts inactive prothrombin into active thrombin. Active thrombin converts soluble fibrinogen into insoluble fibrin threads. Fibrin threads overlap on each other to form a network. The networks of fibrin with blood cells form blood clot. Under normal condition the blood does not clot in the blood vessels du to presence of a substance called antithrombin
