    : Turners syndrome is due to monosomy \[(2n-1)\]. It is caused by the union of an allosome free egg \[(22+0)\] and a normal X sperm or a normal egg and an allosome free sperm \[(22+0)\]. The individual has \[2n=45\]chromosomes \[(44+XO)\]instead of 46. Such persons are sterile females who have rudimentary ovaries filled with connective tissues, (therefore, also called as gonadal dysgenesis), undeveloped breasts, small uterus, puffy fingers, short stature, webbed neck, abnormal intelligence, cardiovascular abnormalities and hearing impairment.
