    : Refractive index of the medium is \[n=\frac{c(speed\,of\,light\,in\,vecuum)}{v(speed\,\,of\,\,light\,\,in\,medium)}\] But \[c=\frac{1}{\sqrt{{{\mu }_{0}}{{\varepsilon }_{0}}}}\] and  \[v=\frac{1}{\sqrt{\mu \varepsilon }}\] \[\therefore \] \[n=\frac{\frac{1}{\sqrt{{{\mu }_{0}}{{\varepsilon }_{0}}}}}{\frac{1}{\sqrt{\mu \varepsilon }}}=\sqrt{\frac{\mu \varepsilon }{{{\mu }_{0}}{{\varepsilon }_{0}}}}\]
