    From outer to inside the sequence of three bones present in the middle ear a of mammals is- (i) Malleus-This    is    the    largest, hammer-shaped ear ossicle. Its outside, narrower end about against tympanic membrane, while the inner, broader end is connected to incus. (ii) Incus-This is shaped like an anvil. Its outer end is broader and connected to malleus. The inner end is narrower and connected to stapes. (iii) Stapes-This is shaped like stirrup with a          large, triangular fossa. Its outer end is    connected to incus.
