    \[{{\text{P}}_{\text{680}}}\] is related with

    A)  \[\text{PS-I}\]

    B)  \[\text{PS-II}\]

    C)  Hill reaction

    D)  None of these

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

Photosynthesis is driven by two photochemical processes. These processes are associated with two groups of photosynthetic pigments called as pigment system-I and pigment system-II. [a] PS-I-It   is   located   on   both-the non-appressed part of grana  thylakoids as well as stroma thylakoids. In green plants, PS-I contains more of chlorophyll-\[a\] photocentre is a special chlorophyll-\[a\] molecule called \[{{\text{P}}_{\text{700}\text{.}}}\] [b] PS-II-It is a photosynthetic pigment system alongwith some electron carriers that is located in the appressed part of the grana ihylakoids. The PS-II contains chlorophyll\[-b.\]  and  some  forms  of chlorophyll\[-a.\] A very small amount of special form of chlorophyll-a is called \[{{\text{P}}_{\text{680}}}\] constitute the reaction centre of pigment system-II.
