    Solution :

    Ans.  Let the prices of 1 trouser and 1 shirt are Rs x and Rs y, respectively. Therefore, according to the question, \[2x+4y=1600\]  \[\Rightarrow \]           \[x+2y=800\]              ? (i) and      \[x+6y=1600\]                        ? (ii) On subtracting Eq. (i) from Eq. (ii), we get \[4y=800\Rightarrow y=200\] Thus, price of 12 shirts \[=12\times 200=\text{Rs}\,2400\]
