    In a 120 L of solution of acid and water, acid is 75%. A person takes out 20 L of this solution and added 16.2 L of acid and 3.8 L of water in the remaining solution. What is the percentage of water in the final solution?

    A) 22

    B)        24

    C) 25

    D)        28

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

    Sol.
    Solution = 120 L
    Acid =75% of 120= 90 L
    Water = 120 - 90 = 30 L
    When a person takes out 20 L of solution amount of acid and water is 15 L and 5 L is taken out.
    Remaining acid Remaining water

    Now 16.2 L of acid is added and 3.8 L of water is added
    \[\therefore \]Acid            Water

    \[\therefore \]  Percentage of water
    \[=\frac{128}{120}\times 100\]
    \[=\frac{288}{12}=24\]%
