    Four pipes A,B,C and D can fill a tank with water in 15, 20, 30 and 60 hours respectively. Pipe A is opened at 4 am., B at 5 am, C at 6 am and D at 7 am. When is the tank filled up completely?

    A) 9: 30 am

    Pipe A can filled the tank in \[1\,h\,=\frac{1}{15}\]
    Pipe B can filled the tank in \[1\,h\,=\frac{1}{20}\]
    Pipe C can filled the tank in \[1\,h\,=\frac{1}{30}\]
    and pipe D can filled the tank in \[1\,h\,=\frac{1}{60}\]
    Pipe A filled the water in \[3\,h\,=\,\frac{3}{15}\,=\frac{1}{5}\]
    Pipe B filled the water in \[2\,h\,=\,\frac{2}{20}\,=\frac{1}{10}\]
    Pipe C filled the water in \[1\,hours\,=\,\frac{1}{30}\]
    Total water filled till 7 am
    \[=\,\frac{1}{5}\,+\frac{1}{10}\,+\frac{1}{30}\,=\,\frac{6+3+1}{30}\]
    \[=\,\frac{10}{30}\,=\frac{1}{3}\]
    So, remaining tank will fill by all four pipes together
    \[\therefore \,\frac{2}{3}\,rd\] of pipe filled in \[=\,\frac{2}{3}\,\times \,6\,=\,4\,h\]
    \[\therefore \]Required time = 7 am + 4h = 11 am
