    Kiran's brother is 5 yr older to her. Her father was 30 yr old when Kiran's sister was born, while her mother was 28 yr old when Kiran was born. If Kiran's sister was 2 yr old when her brother was bom, what was the age of their father when Kiran's brother was born?

    Solution :

    Sol.      [a] Let Kiran's present age be x yr. Then, present age of Kiran's brother = (x + 5) yr Present age of Kiran's sister = x + 5 + 2                                                 = (x + 7) yr Kiran's father age when Kiran's sister was born = 30 yr \[\therefore \] Present age of Kiran's father = 30 + x + 7 Hence, father's age when Kiran's brother born = present age of Kiran's father - present age of Kiran's brother = 30 + x + 7 - (x + 5) =37 + x - x - 5 = 32yr
