A solid cylinder rolls on an inclined plane. It slides down an another frictionless inclined plane of same length and inclination. The ratio of the accelerations in the two cases is

    A)  1 : 1

    B)  2 : 3

    C)  3 : 4

    D)  1 : \[\sqrt{2}\]

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

                    \[{{a}_{1}}=\frac{g\sin 30{}^\circ }{1+\frac{1}{2}}=\frac{2}{3}g\,\sin \theta \]       ?(i) \[{{a}_{2}}=g\,\sin \theta \]                                        ?(ii) From Eqs. (i) and (ii), we get \[\Rightarrow \]               \[\frac{{{a}_{1}}}{{{a}_{2}}}=\frac{2}{3}\]
