    What is antisense technology?

    A)  When a piece of RNA that is complementary in sequence is used to stop expression of a specific gene

    B)  RNA polymerase producing DNA

    C)  A cell displaying a foreign antigen used for synthesis of antigen

    D)  Production of soma clonal variants is tissue culture

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

Antisense technology is a process by which a piece of RNA that is complementary in sequence to mRNA is used to stop expression of a specific gene. In this process antisense cDNA are closed and transfected into cells. Antisense mRNA is synthesised by transcriptions. This readily bind with specific mRNA and black translation. The other way to black translation is to directly introduce antisene RNA into the cells. This hybridises with target mRNA and block translation.
