    A)  apospory

    B)  agamospermy

    C)  apogamy

    D)  vegetative reproduction

    E)  adventive polyembryony

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

Agamospermy is asexual formation of seed. In non-recurrent agamospermy (aplospory) non surviving haploid embryo is formed from haploid egg. Apsospry is the formation of gametophyte directly from sporophyte without meiotic formation of spores. It produces diploid gametophytes. Apogamy is the formation of sporophyte directly from a gametophyte without any formation and fusion of gametes. Haploid sporophytes are proudced, which survives only when gametophye is diploid. Adventive polyembryony is the formation of embryos through sporophytic budding. Vegetive polyembryony is the formation of the plants from detached vegetative parts of the parent, ie, no involvement of gametes or fertilization.
