    Solution :

                    The position of \[Mg\,(M{{g}^{2+}}\] reduction potential\[=-\,2.37\,V)\]is above of aluminium \[(A{{l}^{3+}}\] reduction potential \[=-1.66\,V)\] in the electrochemical series. So, Mg cannot be obtained by reduction of its metal oxide by aluminium. The position of other metal like as Cr, Fe, Mn, Zn are below than Al.
