    Solution :

                    Luminous intensity is the perceived power per unit solid angle, given by \[E=\frac{I}{{{r}^{2}}}\] where, \[I\] is luminous intensity, E the illuminance and r the distance. Given,       \[E=12\,\,lux,\,\,r=5\,m\] \[\therefore \]  \[I=E{{r}^{2}}=12\times {{(5)}^{2}}=300\,cd\]
