  • question_answer
The velocity of a particle is given by\[(10+2{{t}^{2}})\,ms.\]The average acceleration of the particle between 2 s and 5 s will be

    A)  \[2\,\,m\text{/}{{s}^{2}}\]

    B)  \[4\,\,m\text{/}{{s}^{2}}\]

    C)  \[10\,\,m\text{/}{{s}^{2}}\]

    D)  \[14\,\,m\text{/}{{s}^{2}}\]

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

                    Average acceleration \[=\frac{\text{Change in velocity}}{\text{Time taken}}\]                 \[=\frac{{{v}_{2}}-{{v}_{1}}}{{{t}_{2}}-{{t}_{1}}}\] Velocity at 2s, \[{{v}_{1}}=[10+2{{(2)}^{2}}]=18\,\,m/s\] Velocity at 5s, \[{{v}_{2}}=[10+2{{(5)}^{2}}]=60\,\,m/s\] \[\therefore \]  \[{{a}_{av}}=\frac{60-18}{5-2}=\frac{42}{3}\]                 \[=14\,m/{{s}^{2}}\]
