  • question_answer
Two bodies are projected from ground with equal speed \[20\text{ }m/s\]from the same position in the same vertical plane to have equal range but at different angles above the horizontal. If one of the angle is 30° the sum of their maximum heights is (assume\[g=10\text{ }m/{{s}^{2}}\])

    A)  \[400\,\,m\]

    B)  \[20\,\,m\]

    C)  \[30\,\,m\]

    D)  \[40\,\,m\]

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

    Maximum height attained is given by \[{{h}_{\max }}=\frac{{{u}^{2}}}{2g}\] Given,     \[u=20\text{ }m/s\] \[{{h}_{\max }}=\frac{{{(20)}^{2}}}{2\times 10}=20m\] For the second body also \[{{h}_{\max }}=20m\] \[\therefore \] Sum of maximum heights  \[=20\text{ }m+20\text{ }m\] \[=40\,\,m\]
