    Angle of banking for a vehicle speed of \[10\text{ }m/s\] for a radius of curvature \[10\text{ }m\]is (assume\[g=10\text{ }m/{{s}^{2}}\])

    A)  \[{{30}^{o}}\]

    B)  \[{{\tan }^{-1}}\left( \frac{1}{2} \right)\]

    C)  \[{{60}^{o}}\]

    D)  \[{{45}^{o}}\]

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

    Angle of banking is given by \[\tan \,\,\theta =\frac{{{v}^{2}}}{rg}\] where v is velocity, r the radius of circular path and g acceleration due to gravity. Given,    \[v=10\,m/s,\,\,\,\,\,\,r=10m,\,\,\,\,g=10\,m/{{s}^{2}}\] \[\therefore \] \[\tan \,\,\theta =\frac{10\times 10}{10\times 10}=1\] \[\Rightarrow \] \[\theta ={{45}^{o}}\]
