     Blood is oxygenated in lungs and is collected in left auricle by pulmonary vein for further distribution.  In fishes heart pumps out deoxygenated blood for oxygenation in gills. In birds, mammals and crocodiles, there is separation of oxygenated and deoxygenated blood. Spleen in vertebrates is known as a blood bank of body and receive only oxygenated blood.
