The lines represented by the equation \[A{{x}^{2}}+2Bxy+H{{y}^{2}}=0\]are perpendicular, if

    A)  \[A+B=0\]

    B)  \[B+H=0\]

    C)  \[A+H=0\]

    D)  \[AH=-1\]

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

We have the equation\[A{{x}^{2}}+2Bxy+H{{y}^{2}}=0\]                        ...(i) Since, the lines represented by Eq. (i) are perpendicular, therefore coefficient of\[{{x}^{2}}+\]coefficient of \[{{y}^{2}}=0\] \[\Rightarrow \]               \[A+H=0\]which is the required condition.
