    Solution :

                    The\[x-\]coordinate of centre of mass \[x=\frac{{{m}_{1}}{{x}_{1}}+{{m}_{2}}{{x}_{2}}}{{{m}_{1}}+{{m}_{2}}}\] Here,      \[{{m}_{1}}=0.4\,kg,{{x}_{1}}=2m\]                 \[{{m}_{2}}=0.6\,kg,{{x}_{2}}=7m\] Hence,  \[x=\frac{0.4\times 2+0.6\times 7}{0.4+0.6}\] \[x=5m\]
