  • question_answer
The current in the given circuit is-

    A) \[0.3\,\,A\]

    B) \[0.4\,\,A\]

    C) \[0.1\,\,A\]

    D)  \[0.2\,\,A\]

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

We know that when current flow is same then resistors are connected in series, hence resultant resistance is                 \[R={{R}_{1}}+{{R}_{2}}=10\Omega +20\Omega =30\Omega \] Also since, cells are connected in opposite directions, the resultant emf is                 \[E={{E}_{1}}-{{E}_{2}}=5V-2V=3V\] From Ohm's law\[E=iR\] \[\Rightarrow \]               \[i=\frac{E}{R}=\frac{3}{30}=0.1\,\,A\]
